Veterinary care

While this is a relatively hardy breed which requires little in the way of medical care, an Italian Greyhound should visit the vet at least ONCE a year for annual shots and a health check. If any major/minor surgery is done which requires the use of anesthesia, please ask the veterinarian to use Isoflorine. Isoflorine is a gaseous substance and not a barbituate. The barbituates commonly used in anesthesia can kill an Italian Greyhound.
