About Izat Kennels

The above is Abbie and my Husband, Steve, sharing a pillow.

Our former Kennel name was Kato Kennels.

Izat Kennels began in 1991, with a small search for a show dog.  It soon blossomed into a love affair for the breed. We are dedicated to producing sound, healthy, quality Italian Greyhounds. We are proud of our dog's accomplishments.

We do not believe in producing quantity, only quality.

All pets are  spayed or neutered prior to placement (yes puppies included).   We do not sell pets as breeding animals. We require that any dog, sold by us to be your pet for the lifetime of the dog. If you should discover you can no longer keep the animal, it is required that the animal be returned to us and the dog’s AKC papers signed over to us.

What is Limited Registration?

A Puppy sold under limited registration as defined by The American Kennel Club  is identical to Full Registration with the exception of litter registration privileges. No litters produced by the breeding of this dog will be accepted by The American Kennel Club for registration. Accordingly, any breeding of this puppy/dog will result in an unregisterable litter.

We do not produce animals for the reason of resale (i.e. commercial reasons). We breed first and foremost for ourselves. Occasionally a pet puppy may be available to an approved home. If you are interested in purchasing a pet from me, feel free to email me for details.

We will  NOT ship puppies. I require all prospective buyers to pick up their puppies in person. I take pride in the way my dogs are raised. They are NOT in kennels, but are house dogs and my pets first and foremost. I like for  potential owners to see for themselves that the puppy they may acquire is raised in a loving environment. Purchasers also have a chance to see not only the conditions they are raised in, but also relatives of their puppies. If a potential owner decides to fly in to pick up a puppy, the puppy must fly in the cabin and not as cargo.

Member of the Italian Greyhound Club of America!

Paula Carroll (Blackacre) with Amanda and Myself (Izat) with Abbie.

This is a special thanks to Paula Carroll.  While our friendship started with a common interest in Italian Greyhounds, it has crossed into a friendship of a lifetime.  Thank you Paula for taking this "stray" in and giving your wisdom freely.  Your husband Jim, your children and family are lucky to have your bright shining presence in their lives.  May blessings shine on your family and the Blackacre kennel name continue to produce outstanding dogs.
